U.S. Citizen Outreach in the Copperbelt

U.S. Embassy Consul Rob Romanowski will be in Copperbelt Province next week, and invites you to join him at the Mukwa Lodge near Mpezeni Avenue at 1830 on Tuesday, July 15. He can address such topics as American citizen services and voter registration, but will be pleased to address other embassy-related concerns and questions.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by writing to ACSLusaka@state.gov by July 14, 2014. Please list any specific consular service (passport renewal, notarial, etc) that you may need. Also if you live in the Copperbelt and have been notified by us that you have a new U.S. passport ready to be picked up, please let us know and we would be pleased to bring it to the meeting. We hope to see you in Kitwe.

U.S. Embassy Zambia: General Guidance and Contact Information:

We strongly recommend that U.S. citizens traveling to or residing in Zambia enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at www.Travel.State.Gov. STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates, and makes it easier for the U.S. Embassy to contact you in an emergency.

If you don’t have Internet access, enroll directly with the nearest U.S. Embassy. To receive SMS notices about security updates, ensure your current mobile phone number is in STEP or contact the Consular section via email at ACSLusaka@state.gov for assistance.

Regularly monitor the State Department’s website, where you can find current Travel Warnings, Travel Alerts, and the Worldwide Caution. Read the Country Specific Information for Zambia. For additional information, refer to “A Safe Trip Abroad” on the State Department’s website.

Contact the U.S. Embassy for up-to-date information on travel restrictions. You can also call 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the United States and Canada or 1-202- 501-4444 from other countries. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays). Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to have travel information at your fingertips.
