If you are an LPR who intends to return to the United States, but have been outside of the United States for more than one year, you may review the requirements for a Returning Resident Visa here. To set up an appointment for a Returning Resident Visa, please email ConsularLusaka@state.gov with your full name, date of birth, and brief description for reason for applying for a Returning Resident Visa.
If you are a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) who has been in Zambia for less than one year and your Green Card is lost, stolen, or has expired, you will need to apply for a boarding foil to return to the U.S. To apply for a boarding foil at the U.S. Embassy, please email ConsularLusaka@state.gov to schedule an appointment. Please visit the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website to find form I-131A, instructions for the form, and information on how to pay the filing fee.
The Consular Section is able to facilitate DNA testing when DNA testing is recommended. For any case where DNA testing is recommended, the applicant will receive specific instructions on the next steps. Please review information on DNA testing for immigrant visas.
