Ambassador Foote Commemorates International Women’s Day with Special Broadcast

LUSAKA – In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the U.S. Embassy welcomed an interview with QTV, featuring U.S. Ambassador Daniel L. Foote and three Zambian women leaders who manage HIV programs funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and are beneficiaries of U.S. government programs.

Ambassador Foote highlighted the U.S. Embassy’s work in the gender space and explained the significance of Women’s History Month in the United States.  The Ambassador also stressed the value of women’s contributions to Zambian society.

The Zambian women explained the significance of International Women’s Day in Zambia and discussed how U.S. Embassy programs are creating opportunities to advance their work.  This joint interview promoted the value that the United States places on diversity and gender equality.
